8:38 p.m. - Mesh With Me
|
It's funny, but the more I get to love my 6th graders, the less I'm liking my 7th graders. God, their class is just torture to get through. Starting Monday, however, I don't have to have them first thing in the morning. I get to have my favorite class first instead. That might make waking up in the morning a bit easier. I just found out that one of the girls who claimed to be leaving at the end of the Semester is leaving mainly because of me. She hates me that much. I never knew what turned her against me, as she and I have had only a few altercations, and none in a very long time. She and I are both clipped and polite with each other, but there is something in me that she just doesn't like, and I can't stand her snotty attitude. I know not everyone is going to like me, but it still sucks when they don't. It makes me doubt myself. However, in that same class, there is one girl who detests her other two teachers but loves me. I'm the reason she's staying. How can here be so much discrepency? I suppose some people mesh, and some don't. Siiiigh. I invited a friend from work to attend a hip-hop class with me. She is usually a bit late, but this time she was 15 minutes late. The class was in full swing, and the teacher does not admit people too late, so I finally went in without her. I felt bad, but I really wanted to do the class, and I didn't know when she was finally going to show up. I know that some people just have a thing about being late, but I'm religiously on time. It's very important to me. I guess everyone has their thing. Luckily she's not mad at me, and I had fun in class. I haven't done hip-hop in a while, so it took some getting used to. I enjoyed myself, though, so that's the main thing. It's difficult to motivate myself to get my butt to the gym, so I've decided that I need to give myself a little more incentive. I am going to decide on something I want or want to do, and if I make it to the gym at least three times that week, I will buy it/do it at the end of said week. If I don't go to the gym at least three times, I can't buy that thing or do that thing. I'll just have to wait. I think my big thing next weekend will be going to see Jersey Boys. I really wanted to see it on Broadway, but it was always sold out. Here's my chance. I can't go unless I do the gym thing, though. I'll hold myself to that. I wonder if it will work. I've discovered a British musician that I love: Just Jack. He's a rapper/poet/r&b/trip-hop hybrid. He's definitely not in the Eminem realm, which is a good thing (even though I like Eminem). He just has a unique, compelling sound. He has one album on iTunes, which I just bought, and has a new album coming out in a couple of weeks. I can't wait! You should check out his site: I'm also breathless for the new Shins album to come out on Tuesday. I will buy it on that day. I'm disappointed, however, that they're not coming to San Francisco. Who doesn't come to San Francisco? Apparently them. I got to see them in Portland a couple of years ago, and they were amazing. Maybe they'll come back through. And I'm off. See ya! |
